THE INDUSTRY can't stop obsessing over Prada's S/S 2010 collection. How can I tell? I have seen the bejeweled, chain-linked crystal dress in almost every editorial for the past month! Yes, it is beautiful, but damn, where are the bejeweled knock offs for me to enjoy? ;)

Brand Profile: EXOTIC Styling Inspiration

LOVING THIS STYLING! This spring break, my blog assignment for fashion marketing was to write about something that inspired me over the past week. (Loves it!) I saw this photo shoot and instantly gravitated toward it. Why? It's very me - brave layering, pattern combinations, wild animals and landscapes, and Poly! Lately, I've been trying to improve and infuse my style into styling for others, and this photo shoot reminded me that you can be professional, out there, and exotic. Also, it reminded me to use abstract poses (they create interest)!

Oh Fishtails!

IT'S TRUE...it's been about a month or so and I'm getting the itch to dye/cut my hair again. I'm still unsure with what I want in the entire look, but I'm thinking of keeping the colors in the brown/red families. Yay warmth!


& DURING THE PREVIOUS WEEK, I viewed Poly's new editorial for Vogue Italia (March 2010). I find the shoot very interesting and creative, with its energetic hair&makeup colors. I adore Poly's fishtail braids and the extensions woven into them. Such fun hair color against the mellow blonde hue of her hair.

She's Got the Look: Lindsey Wixson

Wixson is a 15 year old model from Wichita, Kansas. She's best known for her recent Miu Miu campaign, a spot usually reserved for Hollywood celebrities like Katie Homes and Kirsten Dunst. Her unique look is actually an interesting mash up of various model movements: she is at once mod, baby doll fragile, and gap toothed. She's even got a diary written especially for Life magazine. Oh, ze places she will go...!

Go Faux

I KNOW THAT LIPSTICK sales skyrocket during economic recessions and depressions, but I had no idea that eyelashes could fall into the same sale boosting category. The Cut reported that "False eyelashes don't seem to have been affected by the recession: Sales last year increased by 6.2 percent to $44 million." Whooo! Lipstick can tend to be cheaper, but I think the similarity in the "instant makeover" that lipstick gives you can exist in faux lashes as well, and that has been adding to its recession success.

Sasha/Lara Swap at Prada

SASHA WAS the face of Prada's fragrance, Infusion d'Iris, since 2007. Now, the new face for the ad campaign is Lara Stone. Love Lara, but there's something Sasha's always had that I just can't deny. What do you think?
