It's one thing to constantly try and revive 80s silhouettes, pieces, etc, but it's another to try and make aerobic wear chic. I know the industry has been trying to push this look for the season (and especially next, with the Anna Wintour x MET's annual exhibit theme set to American sportswear), and it just never works. Perhaps the U.S. gov't brainwashed magazine editors into pushing the athletic look to encourage obese Americans to work on themselves. Perhaps not. Maybe I'm just jealous that all of the shoots showcasing the trend have women in leotards only, and I wish I could wear JUST a leotard down Powell street.
Either way, the trend will always look fantastic on film.
