Givenchy is opening their first cosmetic store in the US. Would you believe me if i said that it was in Orlando, Florida? How about in Epcot Center? Yes, for some reason Givenchy is opening a flagship cosmetic boutique in the land of Mickie Mouse.
“We are thrilled to open our full-range boutique of Fragrances and Cosmetics in the France Pavilion in Epcot®.” said Jean-Christophe Gandon, General Manager of Parfums Givenchy, Kenzo and Emilio Pucci Fragrance “This is the only place in the United States where the entire range of Givenchy Fragrances, Skincare and Make-up will be available under one roof. We think that Epcot and Givenchy both share the same mission to celebrate innovation and provide an outstanding experience to the consumer. I really believe this new boutique will soon become a favorite among visitors to the France Pavilion in Epcot®,”
reports the Givenchy Press Release.
I would include the video, which involves Minnie Mouse jumping about, but it is truly too disturbing. Still, it sure beats a water bottle with Donald Duck on it...
In less ridiculous news, we can get excited about Chloe's new fragrance, Love Chloe. Here is a making of the commercial, starring, of course, Raquel. Reminds me of the Charlie by Revlon ads...
Designer Kosuke Tsumura created a "Cocoon Cradle" dress for a Mother, and a cradle for a baby. They are made of "sonic-cut units of Felibendy™" and intrigue The Ram.
One major trend I spotted at New York Fashion Week was the use of transparent fabrics. Early trend adopters have been latching onto this trend since this past spring, when mesh & lace tops became trendy on the streets. Now, the trend has dabbled into an overwhelming amount of collections in the S/S 2011 fashion shows thus far.
Seen at Richard Nicoll in maxi skirts, tight fitted pants, tops, and more:
The bulk of Y-3's S/S 2011 collection involved the silhouette of a bare tummy. Immediately, I reminisced scrunched tube tops and oversized denim of the 90s. Street style and popular culture has been obsessed with the 90s grunge look for at least a season or two, so the skin baring came as no surprise to me.
The part of this silhouette situation that I do respect is the edged twist that Y-3 delivered in this collection. Monochromatic ensembles in all black or red simplified and modernized the looks. Also, the dark lip and corresponding eyeshadow added to the modernization. Honestly, I enjoyed the low slung fit of the repeated pant in this collection, even though it won't look great on the bulk of society!
Susan Seddon Boulet's Raven Woman. Came upon the artist through my Color and Design class. Her pieces are so warm, peaceful and multifaceted. This one reminds me of the Knife.

Hey guys! thought I'd bring you some sexy lace-coated browtastic images from Marie Claire Italia.
Bo Don by Johan Sandberg for Marie Claire Italia September 2010.
Sigh!
Also have any of you been watching Mad Men? Don is ridiculous this season. Kind of want to slap him. Joan is looking amazing, though. Happy Labor Day U.S. readers! Go eat a cupcake!
