Designer Spotlight: Philip Treacy

He's currently resides in London, is an avant garde millinist, and created Lady Gaga's VMA Nest hat. He is Philip Treacy.

Originally from a small village in West Ireland, Philip was originally inspired by weddings. “They were equivalent of fashion shows to me. It seemed so glamorous to see these creatures appear in these extraordinary clothes.”

Originally, hats weren't his main focus and were simply a hobby to the designer. Then, THE fashion miracle happened: he was discovered by Isabella Blow in 1989. And bam, history.

There are no limits or materials left untouched in Treacy's designs.

From stuffed gloves tospace ships and flowers, the sky is the limit.
