Brand Profile: Harputs Own

“Rather than producing a traditional runway line, we concentrate on the development of a few select pieces (reasons here stemming from the need to create versatile basics that complement our existing stock of designers and, frankly, our lack of experience in the field). Our design process is a communal effort and everything is subject to change, the idea being that perfection is ephemeral.”

Harputs Market is a San Franciscan design boutique located on 1525 Fillmore Street. The store began as and Adidas affiliate selling sneakers in the East Bay. From there Harputs Market was born. As they sold avant guarde designs by Yoji Yamamoto and Stephen Schnieder they began to conduct clothing of their own. The company now uses the title Harputs Own as their in house clothing brand. Harputs own lets design happen naturally with input from the whole design team.
