In the 2008 holiday season, window displays were designed to be funny and light hearted to keep your mind of your plundering bank account. This year, that theme has returned, with an even bigger statement.
Characters in the windows on Madison Avenue will include the Cone Heads and Sarah Palin. The new tagline for the shopping bags is, "Have A Witty Holiday!", which is nice, but basically a copy of last year's shopper. Regardless, I am ecstatic, as usual, to see Simon's work. What materials will he use this holiday, hm? The most recession-friendly yet, or gawdy as ever?
